Some time ago, my husband and I made a vision board.

We had so many dreams and desires, but we noticed that if we didn’t write them down and keep them in sight, they would constantly fade into the background, often missing from our prayers, and eventually, some would even disappear from our minds altogether.

We had both learned that God is more than happy to grant us all the desires of our hearts, but that sometimes we just have to be persistent in our prayers and keep expressing them to God. God gives us all kinds of desires, dreams, and visions; it’s up to us to do something with them.

So we decided to make a vision board. We busily collected pictures that depicted our dreams and desires and got markers, brushes, paint, and a canvas. On our weekly date night, we got started.

We made a pot of tea, filled a bowl with chips, and soon our kitchen table resembled a craft table at daycare, LOL. Cutouts, torn magazines, paintbrushes, and markers were scattered everywhere.

But we had so much fun doing it, working together on the things that are close to our hearts, our desires and dreams for the coming year. Not only that, but we also wanted to put healthy goals on our vision board that keep slipping away due to the busyness of everyday life, like drinking more water and getting more exercise.

After two evenings, our vision board was finished, and we hung it in a spot in the kitchen where we pass by every day. This way, we want to remind ourselves of all the beautiful dreams and goals God has placed on our hearts so they are constantly in our minds, and we can talk about them with God and pray about them daily.

Lies of the Enemy

We can sometimes be so busy with everyday things. Completely consumed by our responsibilities or the things of the world, beautiful dreams fade into the background. Lies of the enemy can fill our heads: “Those dreams are beautiful, but you’ll never succeed because you don’t have the money, you’re not capable, or it’s not meant for you.” The world, the devil, and your flesh compete for your vision!

But we have a choice!

Where do you see yourself in a few years? Do you see yourself healthy, abundant, prosperous, and walking in all the promises God has for you? Or do you not see that yet? Choose today to focus on what God says about you and the desires He places on your heart. Make sure that image is printed on the canvas of your heart.

“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” – Mark 9:23

Start filling yourself with the Word of God and His promises.

If God has given you dreams, goals, or desires, then make sure you see them, begin to speak them out, and believe that all things are possible for those who believe (Mark 9:23)!

Blessings!
